Summer days come to an end

these boys, Ben and David, are some of my Webelo Scouts who live in our neighborhood. They love to hang out at my house with my boys, and tonight they were teaching Cameron how to jump things with a scooter! Cameron is getting pretty good at jumping on his bike and riding on one wheel. He asked his dad if he could take one wheel off his bike so he could ride a wheelie all the time! Oh boy oh boy!

Anna was the lone girl in a neighborhood full of boys. She didn't seem to mind though and knocked on the door everyday. She would play with Cam or Colb, or even hang out with me if they weren't around. She was good to play with Hayden if I needed her to!

These three boys played together every chance they got. I was kind of surprised when I saw that Colby was over at Corbin's house today because the last thing I heard from Colby was that he never wanted to see Corbin again for at least three years! It was a good day if they only got in one fight, but yesterday was a hard one and Colby was just sure that he never wanted to see Corbin again. Colb is such a sensitive little boy and gets his feelings hurt easy, he is also very stubborn and hates to let someone else get the last word, unfortunately Corbin is just like Colby so they butt heads alot. And living just across the street from each other makes it hard not to see one another. Luckily they are kids are they don't hold a grudge for long. I was glad to see that they worked it out and could spend this last summer day having so much fun! Brendan usually knocked on our door at about 8:30 am!! I used to tell him that my kids can't play until 10am, but finally just started letting him come in and hang out with us until 10am. Both of his parents work so he was home with only his 15 yr old sister, poor kid just wanted to play and had no one to tell him it was to early!

So today was the last day of Summer Vacation here in our town, the kids played all day! Actually they played all day every day this week. I didn't have the heart to make them do many chores or have "no friend days" since this was their last week before school. Hayden and I sat out on the front lawn and watched the kids play, he was in heaven watching the big kids, he thinks he is one of them sometimes! Colby, Corbin and Brendan were jumping on the tramp playing "brainless" their made-up game with a big huge soccer ball. Cameron was riding his bike and getting jumping lessons from Ben and David. I took my camera outside to get some last summer day pictures. After the sun went down, they all came to our house and played Ghost in the Graveyard. As much as I think I am ready for school to start, it also makes me sad to have the lazy summer days come to an end. This neighborhood that we live in is so great. Colb and Cam have an endless supply of friends and safe streets to ride their bikes on. Rare was the day when they would come home sad because there was no one home to play with.

I am banking these Indian Summer days in my memory so that during the long cold winter days, I will have something to get me through! My boys are growing up, Colby is starting 2nd Grade and Cameron is starting Kindergarten. We only live about 2 blocks away from the school and they are both excited to ride their bikes to school. I think Hayden and I will have to walk behind Cam just to make sure he get there safe, but as long as the weather holds out I am willing to let them ride. Well, goodbye summer........ we will already look forward to next year!

Summer in Utah

This summer has flown by way to fast. We moved into our house on the 18th and had my mom and dad here for 10 days. Ryan and Julie and kids were here for two weeks, the Haman's came to visit and after getting back from AZ, the Jones's stopped by for a couple of days. So we have had many opportunities to take pictures which of course I did just that, took lots of pictures! Thanks to Gma and Gpa Davis and Emily for providing lots of entertainment for the kids. They had so much fun and made lots of great memories.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We went up to the top of Snake Creek to have a family photo session. The bugs were horrendous but the wild flowers were amazing, so we put up with the bugs to get some pictures. Hayden and Caroline won the awards for best behaved and happiest kids! They were great! Probably because they were held and didn't have to stand and get bit by ants like the rest of us. It was fun though and the pictures are nice to have.

Johnathan, Anna, Colby and Cameron. We always love spending time with the Haman's and hope that one of these days we can live closer to them. Thanks for coming guys!
Colby, Cameron, Jamie and Courtney Jones. On their way home from Canada, the Jones's stopped for a couple days. We spent one day at Temple Square. It was the first time we had taken our kids there since we moved back. We had a really great time! Thanks Daryl and Aubrey, come back again soon.

Gma, Gpa and the babies!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LAGOON!!!!!!! This was our first time to Lagoon and I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it was great! It was a long day but the kids did great and we rode lots of rides. Cameron went on the 2 loop de loop roller coaster with Mark and I and is so proud of himself! Colby rode the old white wooden coaster and swore he would never ride another coaster again! They loved the Lagoona Beach and could have gone down these water slides for hours! We had a great time just watching them. The babies were so so good too. It was just a fun day that will have to become a family tradition.

Colby loved to be in charge of the babies. He sat them this way facing each other and wanted this picture taken. Such a great babysitter!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, water saves the day. Aunt Emily planned and carried out a huge water ambush that the kids were totally not expecting, it was great! The water fight lasted for two days! I'm not sure who had more fun, the kids or Emily! Thanks EM, lets plan another one next summer!
This box was just Nathaniel's size!
They thought they were so clever shooting at Emily from their "hideout".
Oops, these pictures are out of order but I'm not gonna redo them. I love Colby's face in the top picture.
Jake and Than
Colb and Cam

Oh yeah, we also went to the ZOO, I didn't get many pictures though. This of course is the token Hogle Zoo picture!

July in St. Johns

Prepare for picture overload!!!!! I wanted to get these pictures up before school starts and I have more new pictures to post. The kids are in bed and Mark is gone scouting for Elk, so I am taking this opportunity to put these up. Some of them I will explain others need no explanation. We sure love being in SJ and I don't think there is a better place to be a KID. My boys absolutely love it there. GMa and GPa sure spoil them and we love it even more when Bayli, Maison and Jaden are there too! Thanks so much mom and dad for all that you did for us and your hospitality while we took over you lives for two weeks! We sure love you.
These pics are out of order so just follow along...
Playing in the irrigation and hunting for bugs!

Dad and his garden. We have and old picture of Great Grandpa Heap standing in the very same garden. I wish I lived close enough to enjoy the fruits of the harvest.
The mighty Rattlesnake Hunters!

Jaden was a tornado!!!!! This picture about sums up the two weeks with him, upside down and crazy! It sure was fun getting to know him though, I'm really glad we had the chance to watch Kent's kids while he and Lisa were on the Trek.
Jaden and Hayden, two cute boys!
Bayli, "bustin' a move" the kids loved to turn on music and dance. Bayli has some pretty sweet moves!
Mikayla hung out with us a lot and we sure love having her around. The kids love her and she loves them. Thanks Mikayla, I can't believe you are in High school now!
In their 'hot tub'

GMa decided it would be fun to 'tie dye' some shirts for the kids to sleep in. They loved it and were so excited to wear their shirts.

My three sweet boys. I love how Hayden and Colby are looking at each other in this picture.

Thank goodness for water, it entertained the kids everyday!

Papa and Nana sat outside to watch the kids play in the water.
For some reason they thought it was fun to dunk their heads in the mud!

For this picture they had to put a leaf on their faces first!
(I still have more pics to post, but will have to get to it later.)
