She wins the award for Cutest Christmas baby EVER!

You may have to look twice at the picture below to realize that it is not actually my living room, but is the cultural hall at the church.  We have some pretty great ward party planners in our ward and this year they created this lovely space for the ward party.

This Reindeer board was at the party for families to take their picture.  Hayden was the only member of my family that was willing.  Oh well, maybe next year!
These crazy boys had no problem putting their faces in a few pictures!

Sunday Nap

On Sunday afternoon Hayden wanted to take a nap under the Christmas tree.  We all thought he meant the big tree until we found him laying on a pillow under the little tree!  He slept there for almost three hours!

She's on the move

This baby sister won't sit still!
I was trying to get a few pictures of her in the darling dress that her Grandma Heap made her but she would not hold still.  First she had to get the flower off her head and then she was off....No sittin' around taking pictures for this girl!
Despite her efforts, I think I managed to get a couple of good shots of the dress.
Thanks so much Gma, it's precious and when she wore it to church I lost count of all the people that said they loved it!

Bugs-post edit

To those of you who saw my post called BUGS, I took it down for two reasons.

One- it was pretty rude, and I am not a rude person.

Two- because it didn't convey my feelings acurately.

So let me clarify.

I do not dislike NieNie.  I just dislike what her blog has become.  It is all about "look at me and all of the publicity she gets" and not so much about real life.  And this bugs me because never once has she said Thank you or shown any concern for the people in St, Johns who helped her especially my parents who continue to deal with it today. The post was just a year or so of frustration coming out and it came out a little wrong in the first post!

For those of you who may not know....NieNie's plane crashed into my parents backyard.  My mom was home at the time and was scared to death.  I'm really happy that Stephanie seems to be doing so well and I wish her the very best.  I'm a little defensive of my parents though and Thank you would be nice to hear.

Utah Truffles

If you have never had a Mint Truffle from Utah Truffles....I'm sorry.
They are to die for.
If you don't live in Utah and don't have access to them, I'm sorry about that too.
If you do live in Utah you can find them at various grocery stores and gas stations and also at Deseret Book.  They aren't cheap but they are so worth the money.

kids say....

My kids have really been saying the craziest things lately.  I wanted to write some of them down before I forget.

Hayden, most things that come out of this kids mouth are note worthy, it's hard to remember them all.
While we were diving in the car down to Provo the other day he asked me the most random question, he says, "Mom, do Spiders have butt's?"   I had to laugh and imagine the thoughts that were going through his head!
I try to keep him moving during the day which is not too easy since we can't really play outside anymore.  The other day he was running races from one end of the house to the other and he would say, "On your mark, GET SICK, GO!"
He tells me all the time that he is "too sick, or too tired" to do something he's been asked to do.

Colby is the Chess king.  He and his dad play a couple of matches a day.  Colby is a dang smart kid and is really good at chess, but he talks so much trash that Mark finds it hard to let him win.  It's really funny actually to listen to Colby, I don't know where he learned to talk trash.....Actually, I'll blame it on his older cousins, Colt, Jake, Tuff, you know who you are!!  When we tell him not to be so mouthy, he says that he is just confident! Ahhh.... Mark finally had to tell him that confidence is in your head, not your mouth.  I have to say though that he does have the skills to back up his mouth!
He also told us that he needs to get some deodorant!  WHAT?!?!
His friends older brother told him that you have to wear deodorant to get girls to like you!

Cameron wants to be an Elf.
He asked me today if his ears look like Elf ears.  He was disappointed when I told him No!  He kept looking in the mirror and saying that, yes, he does have Elf ears.  Then he asked me how he could be an Elf.  I told him he could get a costume and be in plays or commercials or something but that was not the right answer.
He wants to be one of Santa's elves and he has a plan.
He is going to wait up for Santa on Christmas Eve, then tell him that he wants to be an Elf.  Santa will take him to the North Pole and train him to be an Elf.  He will be able to come home for most of the year, but when it's time to get ready for Christmas he will have to go back to the North Pole.

As crazy as his idea is, it was really fun to listen to him plan and to see the sparkle in his eyes.  It made me excited for my kids and Christmas.  I remember being little and really believing in Santa, it really was magical and Santa really could do anything!

The Big Three

Happy Birthday Hayden!
This kid is a big bag of tricks, he has emotions that go from coast to coast.  When he is sweet he's super sweet.  When he is mad he is mad, there is not usually an in between!
That's not normal for a 3 year old is it?!?!
I hyped up his birthday kind of a lot this year, but why not?  You're only 3 once.
Hayden was pretty lucky and got to have two birthday parties,  one in St. Johns with the Mineer cousins and another in Utah with the Davis cousins.  He loves doughnuts, like really loves them and wants to go to the store and get one everyday.  So when he said he wanted a doughnut cake I wasn't surprised!  It was so easy and I think looks super cute too.  There were lots of cousins at the SJ party and they sure spoiled Hayden.  He was so sweet and got excited about every present.
Thanks everyone for making his birthday special.

Even the babies got in on the party action!
(the hats only stayed long enough to take one picture!)

For the Utah party Hayden again wanted doughnuts only this time he wanted little ones.
I jazzed them up a little and thought worked out pretty well.

Caroline turns three this month too.
It does not seem like 3 years ago that these two kiddos were born.

Gees, do all these kids look related or what!
At least they are all dang cute.

Hayden and his "tool fing" He was with me when I picked this present up at Costco and it was too big to hide.  So for three days he kept asking if he could have his "tool fing" yet.  Poor kid, it was torture to know what your present was and not be able to have it.  But it was the last one at the store so a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do!  He also got the Fire Truck that he had wanted "really bad" for the last three months.  I wish you all could hear him say he wants something really bad, it is so dang cute.  This kid really is the best even if he is an emotional roller coaster.  We all love him to pieces and love spending time with him. Hayden makes this world a better place!

10 Months

Clara girl Loved Grandpa's horse.  She clapped her hands and everything!
And could you die over the cute hat that Grandma made her?

Clara is wearing a shirt that was mine when I was a baby.  My mom was cleaning out her cedar chest and found some old treasures of mine and my brothers.
Clara and Parker got along pretty well most of the time.  Clara would flinch though when Parker would come strait at her, I would too if I saw a big open mouth crawling toward me wanting to eat me!  How are they both already 10 months old?
Savannah shared her hat with Clara and sorry Savannah but she looks cuter in it than you!
At ten months this girl has learned to crawl and wave bye-bye!
She has major separation anxiety from her mom and does not like strangers.
She loves to tear apart and eat paper and kleenex and throws a fit when I take it away.
She has 6 teeth and LOVES bath time and gets upset when I take her out of the tub!
She makes her way all around the house and finds every little thing that no one else would notice.  The boys are learning to be on constant Clara watch and are doing a really great job of it.  Even Hayden will take things away from her that she shouldn't have!
Only two more months until this sister is one.

Over the Res and through the woods

Instead of singing over the river and through the woods we sing.... "Over the Reservation and through the desert to Grandmothers house we go.  Dad knows the way to drive the Honda down the long and winding roads."

It's probably one of the most boring drives through miles of endless nothing but at the end of the road for us is my kids paradise.  To most people the small Arizona town that I call home and that my kids love more than any place else, may seem like nowhere, but to us it's home with more family than we can count and we can't wait to be there next week!!

9 months

Sweet baby sister turned 9 months old on the 3rd of this month, and to celebrate she got her very first doll!
(ok, so it was supposed to be for Christmas but I just couldn't wait! after all I have waited ten years to give my daughter a doll! the kicker for me was that this doll named Molly was born on January 30th, mine and Colby's birthday, it was meant to be!)
Those of you who know me won't be surprised by the fact that it's a Cabbage Patch Doll.  I still have my dolls from when I was young, but they are in boxes waiting for Clara to get a little older.  Can't have her ruining the Vintage original Cabbage Patch Dolls now can we!
The first look and it was LOVE!
The doll passed the taste test too!  I wonder if she tastes like she smells, cause she sure smells good!
Hayden likes Molly too and makes sure she is being taken care of.
Tonight when Clara was fussy, he brought her the doll and said; "Mom here, Clara wants to hold her doll Molly!"
At 9 months old this little girl has four-almost 6 teeth.  4 on top 2 on bottom!
She can almost crawl but not quite, won't be long though.
She scoots and rolls everywhere though, and gets herself in the craziest places!
She pulls up on here knees to reach things on the couch.
She is a magician and finds the smallest things that I didn't see.
If her brothers are around she is happy.
Separation anxiety has totally set in so she is a BIG time momma's girl, and I really don't mind!
She still doesn't sleep through the night.  Wakes up at midnight and 4 like clock work.
She loves to feed herself and so far will eat pretty much anything we give her. (yeah for not picky kids! I have my fingers crossed though and I hope I didn't just jinx myself.  I have enough picky eaters already!)
She has just started to jabber quite a bit, but mostly says DA DA.
She hates to be left out of anything, always wants to see whats going on!
She really is still the sweetest, happiest baby ever and we love her more everyday.

Yell-phants & Grr-lil-las

Over Fall Break last month we made a family trip to the zoo.  Somehow this was our first trip to the zoo this whole year.  We usually go a few times during the summer.
Anyway....

Hayden loves "Yell-phants" and was so excited to see them for real.  The baby yell-phant is so cute.
Hayden also says "Yelk" for Elk.  We love it!

Hayden LOVED the "Grr-lil-las" too!

This girl really enjoyed herself and was totally hamming it up.
I mean, just look at that face and the pose.  Such a girl already!

Have you ever been to the Hogle Zoo??

Well, they changed the Do You Measure Up to the Gorilla thing.  It used to just be the Adult Male Gorilla.

The pictures below were taken in August 2005.  Can you even believe how much Colby and Cameron have grown?  WOW!! have they grown is what I say.  Cameron is in the first picture and Colby the second.

kids say....

Colby, my 4th grader comes home from school today and tells me;

-Corbin likes this girl in our class and he is so much drama about her. He says that "if she's happy I'm happy, if she's sad then I'm sad."

REALLY??
4th grade?

At least Colby still thinks it's not cool to like girls.  He still says that he can't stand girls and that they are only fun to tease!  Hopefully, as long as he keeps the teasing nice and to a minimum, he keeps that attitude for 10 or so more years.

Finally!!

Lots of new pictures.

Candy

This is what we ended up with last night after all the kids were in bed.  It was a cold rainy night so there weren't very many trick-or-treaters.  After combining all of our left over candy with the candy the kids got plus the candy that my sis-in-law was able to buy her kids out of we had a HUGE pile of candy.  Luckily we were able to convince Colby & Cameron to let us buy their candy from them for $10 each.  They got to choose a few of their favorite pieces but had to give the rest away.  At first they weren't to excited about the idea, but after awhile they realized that $10 would buy them something that would last longer than candy.  But now what do I do with all this candy!!

Davy Crocketdile & Ballerina's

The Ballerina
After all these years of boys costumes,  I was so excited to dress Clara and wanted something all girl. She looked so darn sweet in the little tights and skirts, I would put it on her everyday if I could.

Davy Crocketdile
At least that's what Hayden called himself!
He really loved this costume and played the part really well.  He got to wear it quite a few times for the different parties that we went to.

Cameron, our prisoner.  Don't you love the rat?!!
His Crime.....being such an AWESOME brother!

For the 3rd year in a row Colby was a Ninja.  I couldn't talk him into being anything else, and when it was picture time I couldn't talk him into smiling either.  This is the only picture I got of just him. He was quite upset about the fact that about an hour before it was time to go trick-or-treating he was grounded from eating any of his candy because he hit Cameron with a belt.  It may sound harsh grounding him from his candy but it's the only thing that could get our point across.  And I'm sure he managed to sneak quite a few pieces, he is like Garfield, candy, candy, candy.....
He is a really good Ninja though, you should see him with swords!  Watch out!
