Bake A Rainbow

In preparation for Cameron's birthday, I made some fun cupcakes last week.  I had to make a test batch a few days ahead of time to make sure that they would turn out ok.  These cupcakes were so fun and colorful.  The kids helped by picking out the colors in our cupcakes.
Start with a white cake mix and make it up using the Perfect Cupcake recipe which is
1 box cake mix
4 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
Amount of oil called for on the box.
After getting it all mixed up but it into separate bowls to make into different colors
After mixing up all of the colors start filling the cupcake liners with the different colors.  Be careful not to get them too full.  You can't really mess up though because it's your rainbow and it can look however you want it to!
They look perfectly pretty just out of the oven without frosting.  Warning though, be sure not to overcook them,

Look how amazingly cute they are with frosting!  I decided not to color my frosting, but you can make it any color you want to complete your rainbow.
I love how different they all look.

I love it!! I saw this early this morning before I went to the store and added the items to my list to buy. I'm loving baking right now and love when you post new things you've made. I think I've tried everything you've posted. So mine are in the oven right now and they look great! My kids loved helping fill the cupcakes. Thanks for sharing.
