It's the Christmas Season!!!

So last week I had good intentions of posting something that I am thankful for everyday, but as you can see, that didn't happen. So since the week has past, I will start a new goal. The goal this week......to have this baby!! I can't believe that I let my husband talk me into not finding out if it's a boy or a girl. I am going crazy!!!!! Literally crazy. Only 9 days until my due date, but if this child loves me, it will come before that to save it's poor mother what little sanity she has left. Wish me luck!!
On a different note, it is Christmas time!!! I love Christmas time. I love the music, smells, lights, shopping, movies, decorations, everything! This is the first year we will spend Christmas in our own home and I am really excited. Since we have always been gone from home we have never had our own Christmas tree. It has been fun buying ornaments and things to decorate. The kids helped me put stuff up yesterday, and I just love it!! I am excited to have a brand new baby for Christmas too! And playing Santa is so much fun. I can't wait for Christmas morning with my kids! Yeah for Christmas!
And I have to put in a mention about yesterday's football games. The Cougars pulled it out again to beat Utah, it was awesome! And how about the SJ Redskins winning state! Congrats boys!!
Anyway... Merry Christmas!

A Few Favorite Baby Things

Since it has been almost 5 years since I last had a baby, I am loving shopping for new baby stuff. Things have changed so much and the accessories are so much cooler and cuter! I am having the hardest time deciding on which diaper bag to get; Petunia Picklebottom, JuJu Bee, Bumble Bags... what a horrible problem to have!!! Also, have any of you seen these nursing covers by BeBe Au Lait? I have one and can't wait to use it, they are way cool. And the Taggies Blankets and toys, I love them, I hope the baby does too! Anyway... if anyone else has favorite baby things please do share.

Did You Know???

I saw this today and thought I would share it. It's always fun to learn somthing new!

Ever wonder why annoying someone is called "getting his goat"?For reasons that are unclear, the presence of a goat can have a calming effect on a horse, and this fact has been used by horse trainers in the past to calm high-strung animals. Once quieted in this manner, a horse becomes very agitated if the goat is taken away. (From Ever Wonder Why by Douglas B. Smith).

More Favorite Pictures

These pictures are from about 18 months ago in Colorado. My boys used to sit out on the curb waiting for the neighbor kids to get home from school and play. They were so faithful everyday! I think these pictures capture the memory very well.

Soaked!

These are just s couple of my favorite pictures from this summer. They are at the 24th Parade in SJ when the fire truck was spraying all the kids with water. I think its cool how the camera captured Colby just standing there getting soaked! The other picture is of Bayli, Kent & Lisa's daughter. You can see the fun in their expressions!

It's a Hard Knock Life

Toy room update: The other day I posted a picture of the kids toy room and said that I was going to make them clean it up when they woke up in the morning. Well, when the kids got up, I fed them then told them to get upstairs and start cleaning. They tromped up the stairs huffing and puffing and then I hear Cameron tell Colby, "Lets sing It's a Hard Knock Life for Us while we clean." They have been watching the movie Annie! Then they ask if I can turn the song on because it is not fair that they have to clean. Seriously where do they get the idea that it's not thier job to clean up their own messes. Colby is always telling me that he just wants his life to be 100% fun! I try and explain that having work to do is just part of being alive but it doesn't sink in! Oh to be 6 again when life was pretty much 100% fun. Anyway... here is a picture of the sweet little guys and thier clean toy room! I had to bribe them to smile! jk.

Halloween Fun!!

So another Halloween has come and gone, and sadly, I just wasn't as in to it this year as in past years. I love Halloween, and all the fun of getting costumes and usually even fix a traditional dinner and invite friends and family over. But this year I am going to blame being on pregnant on my lack of motivation. We really didn't do anything. I did feebly attempt to make the kids costumes rather than buy them. I am not to impressed with how they turned out, but the kids were happy and I guess that's all that matters right? Colby was a ghost, he looks more like a Muslim Ghost than a normal ghost, but oh well. Cameron was a Vampire Bat.

The day before Halloween we had some friends over to make Halloween Trains which was fun. Why not give them candy everyday leading up to Halloween too?!! Then that night when dad got home we carved pumpkins. Colby was so funny, he would not put his hand in the pumpkin to get the seeds out. When he finally tried he gagged!! Funny kid! Cam was proud of himself that he wasn't scared, and Mark and I just got a good laugh out of watching both of them!

Halloween Day was a little slow because there was no school, but finally the trick-or-treat hour arrived and the kids were off. After visiting Grandma and Grandpa and a few other friends, we came back to our neighborhood to hit more houses. After the first two houses, Cam decided that he wanted to go home and help dad hand out candy. So he went home and Colby and I continued around the neighborhood. When Colby and I got home, Cam was having the time of his life with the candy. He would open the door and yell, "everyone come get some candy" Then he would tell the kids to take as much as they wanted! If he didn't know what someone was he would say, "what the heck are you supposed to be?" Finally we ran out of candy and put the tired, sugar happy boys to bed, and Mark and I took our pick of their candy bags. Now with Halloween over, we get to look forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas, which I think is the most wonderful time of the year!

Mom, are your ideas fun to you?

After making our cakes and deciding that it was time for bed, I gave the boys 15 minutes to get all of their toys and messes cleaned up. I told them that whatever was not picked up was going to get taken by the Gobble Monster. (thanks Aubrey for the idea) After a few minutes they had the downstairs cleaned up pretty good, so I told them to start working on the toy room upstairs. Colby said to me "mom, why did you have to have this idea?" Then Cam pipes up and says, "Mom, are your ideas fun to you? Because they are not fun to us. Your ideas are bored to us." All I could do was laugh and wonder where he learned to talk like that?! Man they are growing up way to fast, I am not ready for smart kids that can think for themselves and talk back. Anyway... after their 15 minutes was up I asked if the toy room was clean and was told that it was, so then Mark put them to bed. When I came upstairs an hour later, this is what I see........................the toy room...........does it look at all cleaned up to you? My boys are so in for it tomorrow!! It's a good thing they don't have school because they would be missing it to clean up this mess!! And the picture does not do the mess justice!!!! And here I am a month away from having another one! What am I doing to myself? Actually, I don't know what I would do if I didn't have these sweet boys to make messes, and I know I will miss them when they are grown! But seriously, who said Cam could grow up and ask questions like, "Mom, are your ideas fun to you?"

Cookin' with the kids!

Tonight, the boys and I made little cakes for them to decorate tomorrow with their friends. They are sooooooo much help in the kitchen!!!!! Both of them are on Fall Break from school and they think it is their right to stay up late every night and do something fun. Where they get this idea from I don't know. To keep them entertained tomorrow we have invited a few friends over to decorate these Halloween Train Cakes! So making the cakes was our late night activity for tonight.

Mini Mark

There could not be a kid more like their dad than Cameron. He is definitely a "Mini Mark". The other day Mark asked Cam if he wanted to go hunting and told Cam he could choose the place to go. Cam knew exactly the spot he wanted to hunt, even knew the name of the canyon. He then tore around the house looking for his camo hat and his gun. He was full of questions for Mark and had lots of his own ideas too. When they finally got all ready to go, Cam kissed me goodbye and said, "mom, wish us luck!" When they got home I asked Cam if they got a deer and he said, "nope, didn't even see one, we just saw lots of poop!" Then Mark showed me this picture (note Cameron's little gun in the gun rack too!). He said that Cam was so proud to put his gun next to dads, and they rode around with it there like that! He has Marks hat and sunglasses on too!! This kid is totally Mark! Now for Christmas, Cam wants a kid gun that can shoot real deer!

Kids are funny

I don't think that a day goes by that my kids don't make me laugh. They say the darnedest things. Yesterday Cam was on the phone with my mom and Colby was talking to me really loud. Cam put the phone aside and yelled, "Colby be quiet I am on the phone." I had to laugh because I know exactly where he heard that from!

Colby came home from school the other day and asked if boys could be friends with girls. We said yes of course they can. And he said, "Good, there is a new girl in my class and she was born in 2001 and January 30th. Can you believe that? The same day as me!! So, I want to be her friend. No one else in my class was born in the same year and the same day!" I hope that not a day goes by in their lives at home with me that they don't make me laugh. It makes me stop and appreciate them and realize just how much I love them!

Fall Field Trip

This last Thursday, Cam's class had a field trip to Hee Haw Farms in Pleasant Grove. We took Colby out of school so he could go too. They had a blast running through the corn maze, picking out a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and sliding down the huge hay slide. I debated going because the weather here was so bad and snowy, but it was gorgeous on the other side of the mountain. I'm glad we went!

My sick kids

My boys have been sick for like the last three weeks. AHHHHHHH!!!!! Fevers, stuffy noses, sore throats... I am sick of them being sick. I hope they get it all out of the way before the baby is born though, so at least it is now and not in December. Cameron got Laryingitis after being sick for a few days. His voice was so cute. at first it bothered him that he could not talk very good which was sad but he soon got over that and keep on talking a lot like normal. I got him on video every chance I got. He sounded like one of Donald Duck's nephews, so cute. He was that way for about two weeks and is finally starting to get better. Colby never did loose his voice, but complained of a itchy throat. Anyway..... that's what we have been up to the last few weeks. We are now getting geared up for Halloween! I don't know why but I really like Halloween, I think it is such a fun holiday. Colby is going to be a ghost and Cameron a Bat "that pretend sucks blood!" Hopefully it won't be too cold here Halloween night and they can get in some good trick-or-treating. They will be on Fall break that week so there is no school which will be nice. My camera has been on Hunting duty lately so I don't have any new pictures to post. I will hopefully have some good ones on Halloween. Only 6 more weeks until this baby is supposed to be here!!! I was ok with not knowing what it is until lately. I have just been dying to know if it's a girl or a boy. Six weeks can't come too soon! Although that means that we will have to decide on a name and we are not having any easy time with that. Coming up with a third boy name is presenting quite a challenge. Name or no name, I can't wait! Well, that is pretty much all that I have to say tonight. Until next time....
