I've Got Some.....

Ocean Front Property in Arizona.

Ok I don't have any ocean front property in Arizona.

BUT GEORGE STRAIT DOES.

And Mark and I are going to hear him sing tonight!

Can't wait. It should be a very relaxing evening with good friends Jason and Tricia, and with really good music!

*******

After getting all of these pictures on here IN ORDER, my brain is too tired to think of a clever title for this post.

Busy week, busy week, busy week... thats what we had last week. After my parents left we had my cousin Colt from AZ come to stay with us for two weeks. We all loved having him here and were sad to see him go. I'm afraid that I may have taken too much advantage of him being willing to play with Hayden all the time, but thanks Colt it was so nice having you around. While Colt was here he wanted to learn to golf and Mark was up for teaching him! After spending a couple of days finding Colt some good clubs, they went to the course at least once every day that Colt was here. I was never able to go though so I don't have any pictures. I heard from both Mark and Colt though that I should have been there with the video camera for the first time because Colt thought golf was easy!! Boy did he have a rude awakening!!

Anyway.... we really kept busy. Below are some pictures and narrations of a few of the things we did over that last couple of weeks.

Hogle Zoo, my camera battery died after this picture so it's the only one I got! Colt was a good sport though!!!

For Family Home Evening we went to the Open House for the New Oquirrh Mountain Temple in West Jordan. It was beautiful and was enjoyed by all. Even Hayden was good!

While Colt was here Mark and I had a mission.... convert him to be a BYU fan. Being the sports nut that Colt is we knew he would like to see BYU football stadium so we stopped by.

I should be embarrassed by this picture and truth be told I kinda am. But I also think it is pretty funny! At least he has the shirt on and at least it is not white!

As part of our convert Colt to BYU mission we enlisted the help of our friend and current BYU basketball player Logan. He invited us down to watch a scrimmage and was so good to the boys. My boys thought is was Awesome to shoot around with him before the game started.

4th of JULY
This was a super busy day. Our friends from Tempe, the Jones' came up to stay with us for a few days and we had a bar-b-q planned with the family at our house. I love the 4th of July and this one didn't disappoint. I didn't get too many pictures because I was just too busy.

Hayden and Caroline doing what they do best. Just being CUTE!

This picture is for Aubrey!

WATER BALLOONS

Party at the Heber Park. After the fire truck had sprayed water on the kids for about 30 minutes, Cameron discovered that there were worms everywhere. He was in heaven and was even able to get Courtney to help him save them.

Wasatch Mt. State Park

Sunday. Cascade Springs. Beautiful.

If you live in the Wasatch area you should really take a drive up to Cascade Springs.
Finding fish

Monday. Park City. Alpine Slide.
Wow. I did it. I actually finished this post. It's long I know, but I never know when I will be in the mood to blog again.

Especially since I have another extremely busy week getting ready to go to SJ.

Why is it that summer seems to be so busy every year?

QT

QT??
*
Some of you may be wondering what the heck QT is, unless you live in AZ then you know that QT/Quick Trip is the best gas station in the world and I really really miss QT.
*
QT the gas station is not what I am referring to in this post though.
*
QT for this post means that while my parents were visiting we went on a QT/Quick Trip!! It was SOOOO FUN!! It was two years ago that we went on a QT to Mt. Rushmore with my parents and my kids loved it so much that we have been waiting for the chance to do it again.
*
Where did we go this year on our QT?
*
Well.
Lets see if you can tell from the first two pictures.

Does anyone know??
Members of the Davis Family, your guesses don't count, we've been there too many times!!

Ok, I will put some more picture hints. If you don't know where we went after looking at the rest of these pictures then you really need to crawl out of the hole you live in and go on a vacation! I have lots of good recommendations if you need one!

This was the best part of the WHOLE DAY!

If you have ever been to this vacation spot and not seen The Bar J Wrangers then you missed out on the real experience of being at this vacation spot.
Just an FYI, seeing the Bar J Wranglers is a must when you visit this place. My kids have seen them 5 or 6 times and love it more everytime!!

This child was so so so happy to bet let out of the car and the rest of us were just as happy to give our ears a break from his screams!
My dad wrote this on the car when we stopped at Old Faithful. ( I just gave you a BIG hint about where we were!) Hayden really was not the best traveler, not good at all! Noisy doesn't even come close to what he was! This was a long 12 hour day in the car though and Colb and Cam did pretty well.
When we told Colby to read what GPa wrote on the car this is how he read it;
*
Colby, minus Cam plus Hayden are very Noisy!! --- Kinda funny!
*

I think that for my boys, the best part of the whole trip besides seeing Bar J, was staying at a hotel. They love it! They hang out in Gma & Gpa's room and prank call their dad in our room. They pretend to be Burger King or Joes Pool Hall and Colby has perfected his Eastern Indian accent! Mark loves to play along and answer the phone and this year Hayden even got in on the fun and learned how to answer the phone and say Hello!
*
*
*
I want to send a SPECIAL THANKS to my mom and dad for going on this trip with us and putting up with our LOUD, whinny, hungry kids. Lets plan on another one in two more years! Love ya.

*
editors note; I am using this * as a line break between my paragraphs because for some reason blogger squishes the paragraphs together and I don't like that. There needs to be SPACE so that you don't read it as one big run on paragraph. Get my idea? You know, like it helps the post feel more like I am telling you in person when there are pauses and stuff. Right? Ok, I feel better with that cleared up!

He's Popeye the Sailor Man...

Everybody sing!!!
He's Popeye the Sailor man, toot toot, he lives in a frying pan/ garbage can (you choose!)
I don't know the rest of the song..... sorry

Now that you all will have the Popeye song stuck in your head for the rest of the day, I will post some pictures of my Popeye baby!!!

Hayden loves suckers, or as he says..."huckas". He usually doesn't last very long with them because he bites the sucker off the stick pretty quickly and we have to take it away. In these pictures he is almost done biting the stick in half and so the suckers is bending upwards pushing into his lip. We thought he looked like Popeye!!

we'll take it...

RAIN that is.
For the last week or so the weather has been not so much like summer. And the forcast is not predicting anything different for the next week.
Growing up in a cattlemans family I have learned to NEVER curse the Rain.
It could be worse, we could be in a drought.
Bring it on Mother Nature, we'll take all the rain we can get.
At least until the rivers and lakes start to flood us out, then I will curse the rain!
View from my back door
View from my front door
At least the GREEN GREEN grass is lovely to look at.
Come August I know I will be wishing it was raining again!

Tummy, Tummy

Mr. Hayder baby is currently obsessed with "tummies". He loves to tickle tummies and his brothers are ususally willing to let him tickle them. But when he looks at me he will say, "mom, no tummy?" How does he know?!?!

15 Boys in MY HOUSE!!!

Yesterday we had a very long over-due birthday party for Colby and Cameron. Counting my three boys there were 15 boys total. And the crazy thing is, all of the boys live on our street. How are there 14 boys (not counting Hayden) between the ages of 5 and 9 on one little street?

My greatest ever sis-in-law Emily was in town and came to help out, THANKS SO MUCH EM!

We survived the party although my house is quite a mess I am still to tired to tackle it so it may stay a mess for awhile!

Hayden thought the party was for him! He was so darn cute hamming it up trying to get the boys to laugh at him. He seriously had the time of his life! When the party was over and most of the kids were gone, I picked Hayden up and told him it was time for a nap. The look he gave me and the act he put on is indescribable! I'm glad Emily was there to witness it because it was great! He acted like I was totally ruining his life and was so so sad.

They opened presents.... Bakugan, Bakugan and more Bakugan. Their perfect gift!

They threw water balloons even though it was windy and raining.

They decorated Cupcakes.

They sang Happy Birthday.

They had a very FUN day and I am so happy to have the party over with!!

18 Months Old

This little dude is 18months old now. And he is HUGE!!

31lbs 34.5 inches tall

He loves basketballs and tummies and loves to torment his big brothers.

He only lasted 20 minutes his first Sunday in Nursery but we'll keep trying!!

Oh, and he finally walks!! Yeah!! That's the best news in his whole 18 months. We were getting a little worried that he wasn't walking and he was very grouchy all day everyday. But now that he has discovered the freedom of walking he is back to his happy self and so are we!!

Lots of new posts today.

I am trying to catch up.

Behind is what I get when the weather is great and I have lots of flowers to plant.

So I will probably be behind all summer!

Colby's first Pinewood Derby

I put this post on Colby's blog today but I also wanted to include it on my blog.

Do I really have a child that is old enough to be making Pinewood Derby cars and holding the flag at a flag ceremony? Really do I?

Wow! I guess I do.

I will brag about him though, he is so handsome and did a great job with the flag and the Pinewood Derby. Even though he didn't take first or even second or third he had fun and was a good sport.

After the first race and his car came in second he walked up to Mark and said "huh dad, looks like this car wasn't so fast after all."

Oh gees. What do you say back to that?

STRIKER the Car

Gorgeous Valley in the Spring

When your view is this great it is not such a chore to mow the lawn! Seriously it is so gorgeous here right now. I can almost forget that winter here really stinks. Almost.
