I love Colby's smile in this picture, it is so natural. Caroline filled her pants right when I took the picture and Colby thought it was so funny!!!!

These two babies were so much fun together. Hayden looks like he is going to eat Caroline's sleeve, and he probably would if we let him!

Cousins

This is Colby and Cameron's favorite picture of Hayden. They crack up laughing every time they see it!!!!

A couple of weeks ago, Ryan and Julie and the kids came up to visit. The kids were so excited to see each other and Hayden and Caroline finally got to meet, (Caroline was born 16days after Hayden). We had lots of fun playing at G.Ma's house and our house and at a park in Provo. It's just to bad that we don't live closer together so we can see them more often.

Coconut French Toast

One of my favorite cooking magazines, thanks to my mom, is Taste of Home. Their Spring 2008 issue is so great! I tried this Coconut French Toast for breakfast Sunday morning and we loved it! Well, Mark and I loved it, my kids will not eat home made French Toast, they say they only like the frozen French Toast Sticks. Yuck, someday they will learn to appreciate homemade everything! Anyway, this recipe was so easy and so good. Give it a try and let me know what you think. If you like it you can find other great recipes here.

Coconut French Toast Recipe


TIME: Prep/Total Time: 15 min.
Ingredients:
12 eggs
1-1/4 cups milk
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
14 slices day-old bread
1 package (7 ounces) flaked coconut
Maple syrup
Directions: In a large bowl, beat eggs; add milk, sugar and cinnamon. Add bread, a few slices at a time; let soak for 1 minute on each side. Coat both sides with coconut. Place on greased baking sheets. Bake at 475° for 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Serve with syrup. Yield: 7 servings.

Easter

This was the first time that I have let my kids color eggs at our own house. Sad I know, but I really hate the prep work and the mess. They have done it before just at someone else's house with someone else in charge. They had a lot of fun and didn't make to big of a mess!
My three little boys on Sunday morning. They are all so handsome. Hayden only made it through half of sacrament meeting before he had a huge blow-out and I had to change his cute new outfit!
If it weren't for Aunt Emily, Colb and Cam would not have had an Easter Egg Hunt. She was home from Vegas for the weekend and filled eggs with candy and hid them at Grandma's house. Thanks a million Em!

SpRiNg!!!!!!!

Tonight at 11:58(don't ask me why that is the official time) it is officially the first day of Spring!! I am way excited about this and just wanted to share! We even went to the park in Provo today to celebrate! Yeah for Spring!

Love this stuff

We were recently introduced to this Harvest Grains mix and are now hooked. It's just to bad that there are not any Trader Joe's in this whole huge state that I live in. I had to stock up while I was in Arizona. How I fix it: you chop up some red onion and saute the onion and sun dried tomatoes in olive oil for a few minutes. You cook the grains mix in boiling water then when it is done add the tomatoes and onions. I like to add lots of other spices; salt, pepper, garlic salt, paprika etc... I serve it with Lemon Chicken or Salmon and a veggi and it makes for a very healthy, tasty meal. So any of you that live where there is a Trader Joe's will have to try it out. Since you can't see the ingredients in the picture I will tell you what it has in it; Israeli Style Couscous, Orzo, Baby Garbanzo Beans, and Red Quinoa (pronounced, qeen-wah).

Chubby Cheeks!!

I just want to squeeze him until he pops! He is so dang cute and kissable. These are some pictures that I took this morning. He is growing so fast and learning things everyday. He loves to look at his hands then shove them in his mouth, if he could he would eat them. He won't take a pacifier, but he loves to suck his thumb, it is so cute! Colby and Cameron love to talk to him, and he gets so excited when they do, he starts kicking his little legs and grins, I love it. I think I love every stage of babies, they are always doing something new and cute.

Cooties Shots

This morning, my sweet little Craman got his cooties shots so he could go to Kindergarten. I can not believe that he is going to be 5 in a couple of months, and going to school in August. In a way, he still seems like my baby. Colby tried to prepare him for what it would feel like to get shots, but Colb is way over dramatic and has no pain tolerance, so his descriptions weren't to accurate. Cam said he wanted to get the shots and would be really brave. Poor guy had to get 5 shots in his legs. He cried and tested mom's strength, but when it was over, he was totally fine. He wanted a sticker and asked if we could go show dad! When we got to dad's office, Grandpa gave Cam a dollar and the pain of the shots was pretty much forgotten. He couldn't wait for preschool so he could tell his class!

Hayden meets the AZ Cousins, well, some of them

Hayden and I went to Phoenix over Presidents Day weekend and stayed with my mom and brothers. It was so nice to be in the sun shine and to not see any snow. It was Hayden's first big outing and he was the best baby ever. He wore short sleeves for the first time! It was also the first time that we had Hayden and Jayden together. Jayden was 8 months old and just learning to sit up and scoot around, he would have eaten Hayden if we let him!


I also got to see Kelli and her kids. Her baby Myron, on the left, was born one day after Hayden!

Mononucleosis

Yep, just when I thought we might make it through this "sick"season untouched, bam!, the sick bugs struck our house. Back in February Colby got the flu, and of course when he was getting over it Cameron got it. They both missed a week of school. After being in St. Johns for a week for Grams funeral and totally wearing ourselves out emotionally and physically (the kids played from sun up til way past sun down) we were all sick again when we got home. Colby has it the worst. He was just not looking well to me so I finally took him to the Dr. on Friday and she said it could be one of two things. First was that since we were new to the area that maybe Colby was just picking up every bug we have here and just had one on top of the other, (as she is saying this Colby pipes up and says, "no, I don't pick up all the bugs, just Grasshoppers!") Oh, the funny things kids say! The other thing she thought it might be is Mono, but the only way to know for sure is to get blood drawn and test it. Much to Colby's dismay I opted for the blood test. On our way over to the lab I was trying to explain to Colby what they were going to do and that it would only hurt for a few seconds. He was trying really hard to be brave, but he has no pain tolerance what so ever. After waiting what seemed like hours to him but was really only 15 minutes it was his turn. He sat down in the little chair and asked the guy which finger he was going to poke, despite me best efforts to explain, poor Colby thought they were going to do a diabetes blood test. So the man got his arm ready and told Colby he didn't have to watch if he didn't want to, and stuck the needle in. You would have thought that they were trying to cut his arm off, it was so sad! He was so tense that it took forever to get enough blood out. Finally it was over and we headed to McDonald's because I promised him I would take him, but Colb didn't want to go in because he didn't want people to see him crying! Oh the Drama!!! Later that evening he was still resting his arm! Luckily the next morning he had all but forgotten about the whole thing. Monday morning the Dr. called with the results..........positive for mono. So what do we do now?? Not much you can do to treat mono. We have to let him get as much sleep as possible and don't make him do P.E. or recess. It could take from a few weeks to a few months for him to get over this. AHHHH!!! I really hope that it is just a few weeks. I feel bad for the poor kid, you can tell by looking at his eyes that he does not feel well. When he went to his friends house yesterday he told his friend that all he could do was play Nintendo because he is not supposed to run around, so I guess there are some benefits to having to take it easy!

These two boys wanted to have a dance contest and wanted me to take pictures! It's too bad they are both really shy and would never do this if anyone but mom were watching. It was so dang funny! I think even the baby was laughing! I could not decided on a winner so they tied and both got a prize of their own liking of course!

Spring????

Today I saw a fly in my kitchen window. Do you know what that means? It means that the weather is warming up and that maybe, just maybe Spring is around the corner!! I won't get my hopes up and I am prepared for more snow. As much as I hate flies, I saw it as an early sign of Spring so I was excited!
