Five days at sea, all rolled into one long long long day. Leaving Madeira was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Knowing that I was not going to see land for 5 days was kinda of hard for me to take, I sat on our balcony watching the island until it was gone from my view. I have never liked the ocean, in fact am quite scared of it. (maybe due to the fact that there really is no ocean front property in Arizona!) So we set sail for the Island of St. Maarten in the Caribbean. Since we were the youngest people on the ship by at least 40 years, and we didn't drink or gamble, we had lots of time to read and sleep and eat and read and sleep and eat and read... ok you get the picture! So the five days all seem like one, there was nothing to differentiate the days. It was very relaxing and nice to have that kind of time together. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation but also want to see some new places, a cruise is the way to go. The food was not so good as far as taste goes but it looked fabulous! The chefs were really good at making beautiful food. They put on some shows that were really fun to watch. And they put on some really great shows, musicals and variety entertainers. If you have never been on a cruise, I reccommend it!
