Goodbye GOLD Friend
Twas a sad day at our house. Colby's Gold fish Turbo that he won at the county fair died today, well yesterday but we finally buried him today. Colby actually discovered the dead fish before I did, but from his reaction I knew what had happened without having to ask. This was Colb's fourth fish in his life and just like the previous three, Colby was very emotional about it dying. Although he hardly remembered to feed it and never really had to clean the tank, Colb was VERY attached to each fish! He cried and cried and asked probably a hundred times if Jesus could please raise his fish from the dead. I guess I could have saved Colby from the heartache because I knew the fish was dying. However I feel that it is a good learning experience for kids to learn that every living thing dies and it gives us as parents a chance to teach them about Gods Plan and how death fits into Gods Plan. Colby kept saying, "but mom, I just miss Turbo so much, it is going to be years and years before I can see him again." to which I would answer, "Colby, I know how you feel, it is hard to miss the ones you love. I miss my Grams and Papa's a whole whole lot, but I know that I will see them again. I just have to be patient." Colby listens in his half listening Colby way and says, "MOM!! Don't start talking about Grammy and Papa and Papa or I will cry for days." I quit talking about them immediately. He is not kidding, he will cry for days, he has done it before!
So I finally got Colby to decorate a paper towel that we could wrap the fish in to bury it. Below is a picture of the Eulogy that Colby wrote to his fish "Terbo" or "Trebo" when he really mis-spells the name! After finishing this we went outside and he picked the spot to bury the fish and cried and cried until Corbin came around back looking for Colby to go ride bikes. So just that quickly Colby was over "Terbo". It won't be long though until Colb has a bad day and starts crying about all of his dead fish that he misses, only now he can add Terbo to his list of Girados, Blueberry and Cherry.
Colby has a very tender heart and gets attached to things quickly. I hope he never grows out of it. He is a sweet heart.

My "TO DO" List
This baby thinks he needs to climb onto everything! AHH! My other babies didn't climb.Hayden likes to help me with the chores by taking all of the clothes out of the drawers, so GREAT to have help!
Even though it was frigid cold, Hayden was happy just to be "hhhside"
Since we have been back from the hospital it has seemed so hard to get our family back into a regular groove. The kids think that they should be immune from doing chores of any kind and Hayden is teething and wants to be held all day. All of this equals....A VERY MESSY HOUSE & A FRAZZLED MOM! Shoud I have used the word frazzled, and did I even spell it right? Anyway, last night I took the time to write myself a realistic "TO DO LIST" for Tuesday. I went to bed with high hopes for the next day, looking forward to all of the things I was going to get done. One of which was Get the Boys Chore Chart going again. I've had enough of the "But I have Guillian Barre, I can't do chores." and the "I am so sick of doing all of Cameron's chores, why can't he do it?" excuses. Cameron, in the same breath he told me he is too sick to do chores, asks if he can go ride his bike! Go figure.
Lucky for me, when I woke up I still had the desire to tackle my "TO DO LIST" and got started on the mountain of Laundry and the Spring Cleaning of closets. I was even in a good mood!!
As I went about the morning I quickly started to realize that my "TO DO LIST" should have only had one item "TO DO" and it should have been; Hold Hayden all day because he is teething and fussy and get nothing else done. If I had just known that that was all I needed "TO DO" to be successful today I would have saved myself the trouble of writing down my LIST!
Of course Marks response to my complaints is one worded. MOTHERHOOD. Thanks babe that helps A TON!
On a brighter note, I did take the time to cuddle and love on my baby, I know those days will be gone all too soon.

An escape into the Sunshine
Since we love crowds so much, my friend Tricia and I decided that we would go to the Zoo on the first warm Satruday of the year hoping that the whole rest of northern Utah would be there too. We were not disappointed. They all showed up with some of southern Idaho too!
Although it was very crowded it was nice to get out and enjoy the warm weather. I have been looking forward to taking Hayden to the Zoo because he loves animal so much. He didn't show as much excitement as I thought he would. He just stared at the animals with this look on his face like, "whoa, how did the pictures get out of my books and how are they moving around?" I am sure that my friend got sick of me acting like a toddler myself trying to get Hayden excited about the animals!! The only time I got my camera out was at the playground. I don't know why Zoo's don't have bigger playgounds that are more mom friendly. My kids are more excited about playing than seeing any animals! Maybe I should join the Zoo board for parents and voice my opinion!! or not, that's why I have a blog.
The boys were able to channel their inner Turtle and climb on swaying spider webs and Hayden discovered a love for eating wood chips.
Hayden was like a new kid. I love watching him discover all of the new things that are outside. He loved every minute of the zoo, it was great!
Colby is in Heaven anywhere as long as there are other kids to play with. He can make a friend with anyone, anywhere. He even told me so the other day, it was funny!
Cameron was so happy. He could play just like all the other kids and for that little while didn't feel like anything was wrong with him. Putting up with all the people was worth it just for Cam to have that time. He is almost back to 100% but not quite. There are still a few things he can't do and he still deals with some pain and lots of tightness in his legs. His biggest complaint is that he can't ride his bike yet. I am pretty sure that by this next weekend he will be able to. His progress still amazes me. Prayers are answered.
he makes my day!
Just thought I would share this cute picture. This baby seriously makes my day! Although he is so so busy and talks up a storm and consumes all of my time, I can't get enough of him. It has been fun remembering that I felt this way about Colby and Cameron too and it makes me miss them being little. Notice the bruise on Hayders forehead? He did that to himself while he was throwing one of his super dramatic, super cute fits. His favorite new word is "SOME" as in GIVE ME SOME!! He can smell treats out from miles away and lets you know that he wants "SOME"!
In Bloom
For about two days, Spring had Sprung here in our town. Yesterday while working out in the yard I noticed the pretty purple flowers and the Tulips that I planted in the fall are starting to peek up through the ground. I'm pretty sure that Cameron's friends think his mom is CRAZY because I was so excited and wanted to show them all the flowers that were growing!!
Today, it was cold and windy and snowy. I hope my flowers make it.

Stinky Ditch Water and Slimy Moss
Our white winter blanket is finally melting away revealing the so long hidden treasure of Green Grass. Well, sort of green/brown grass but grass none the less and we could not be more excited!! Cameron is my child who always wants to be outside and when he was able to get around on his own he always was outside. The ditch in front of Grandmas house has called to Cameron since he was born, he loves the ditch. Last Sunday was no different. With the snow mostly gone and the moss starting to form again Cameron could not resist finding a stick to dig out the moss. He needed my help to get over to the ditch and find a place to sit but once he was planted there on the hard, cold, kinda damp crusty grass he was in Heaven! We all had to watch out because slimy stinky moss was flying!!
Notice his lovely pile of MOSS.
Mr. Hayden LOVES to be outside too. He was thrilled that we were going for a walk in the stroller! I have a feeling that he is going to force me to spend most of my time outside this summer. Which I guess isn't a bad thing, I can use my time outside to pretend that I know how to plant flowers and tomatoes. And get a tan too.

An obsession with phones
I love my baby boy so very much, I really do. Yesterday however, he dropped my phone for the bizzilionth time and it finally broke. It was a good phone, it lasted through A LOT of falls from the sweet baby who I might add is obsessed with phones. When he sees a phone, no matter who's phone it is, he wants it and he screams "hlow hlow" until he gets it. Unless of course it is the phone of the lady in Target standing behind you in the checkout line, he doesn't get that phone! Seriously, he has an obsession, it was cute and I usually always gave in and let him have my phone, I guess I pay the price now. Literally the price of a new phone!!
So my reason for this post is to ask ya'lls (yes I just said ya'll!) opinion one which phone I should get. I have always had an LG and have loved them. I don't want to be like a certain sister-in-law that could not decided which phone she wanted so she tried out like 500 different ones...I won't name names but Kacy knows who she is! Anyway, I don't have time for that so tell me which phone is the best. Here are my phone buying guidelines though. I don't want a Blackberry and I don't want to spend more than $100 and I think I want a flip phone.
Your opinions will be GREATLY appreciated. The sooner the better, I need a phone. Like. 5 minutes ago.

therapy - thankyou's & DST
Yeah Yeah, I know I am in need of a new post, but I am just not in the posting mood. I will do a quick update though...
Cameron is doing Great! He is able to walk now unassisted all over the house. He even wanted to go for a little walk down the street today. His balance is not that great yet though so he needed to push Hayden in the stroller to help with that, but overall Cam is great. We go to Provo for therapy twice a week and last time Cam loved it-they let him play the Wii, what kid wouldn't love that?! I am amazed everyday at how well he is doing considering how bad he could have been. Miracle?? I think so.
My ward and neighbors have been so great to us. Seriously. What would we do without a ward family? Thankyou so much. And of course our actual family helped us more than we can ever attempt to repay. Thankyou -thankyou- Thankyou.
On another note, I HATE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS!!! I have lived in states that participate in DST for 10 years now and I still am not used to it and do not like it. Just another reason ARIZONA ROCKS!! Well, I guess that would be my first reason that AZ rocks. Maybe my next post should be reasons AZ ROCKS?!?! hmmmm..... stay tuned. And feel free all you AZ peeps to leave me comments about why AZ rocks so that I don't run out of them!! Like that could happen.

Resident Grouch
One of the effects of GBS is mood changes. Cameron has this effect. HE IS A GROUCH! Since the first signs that something was wrong, it's been a month now, Cameron has been grouchy. Most of the time I am able to maintain my patience and deal with him. Sometimes though, like today when I am extra tired, it is really hard to put up with the GROUCH! To relieve some of my steam I blog about the Grouch instead of get mad at him. I really do feel bad for the Grouch, and he has had such a good attitude about his situation. I don't blame him at all for getting frustrated and angry. I would to if I had to rely on other people to do everything for me.
Since we have been home from the hospital Cam has kept a pretty low profile, he is embarrased to go anywhere in his wheelchair. He has had a couple of friends come over to play though and he loved that! On Thursday though I think his friend stayed a little too long because Cameron was totally worn out. Totally. He didn't get off the couch much at all on Friday because he was too tired. The doctors warned us that he would get worn out quickly. They weren't kidding. I guess that's why he took a three hour nap after our trip to Cabela's today! (Cameron asked us to take him there.) As far as getting better though, he really is. His balance gets better everyday, and he can almost walk totally unassissted for a few yards. Cam starts physical therapy again on Monday in Orem.
I still know that we/Cameron were so very blessed through this whole situation. In hindsight I am able to see even more blessings that have come our way before and since he got sick. The power of the Priesthood is real and God hears and answers the prayers of the faithful.

True Blue Jazz Fans
Last night Mark and I had the opportunity to go to the Jazz vs. Nuggets game. We had great seats which makes a game so much more fun! The Jazz started out very slow, like down by 19 points, but came back to win by 6, it was great. The Jazz fans are the loudest in the NBA which makes any Jazz game a lot of fun!
This is the post game interview with Deron Williams, he is SO GOOD! If you look really close in the upper right corner you can see Alyssa Milano sitting in her seat. I think she dates one of the Denver players.

On to lesser teams, last week the hospital gave us 3 tickets to the Utah vs. UNLV game at the Huntsman Center so Mark and I and my dad went. It was not easy being there in enemy territory while they were not playing BYU but it was a good game and who doesn't like cheering for the RED & WHITE!!

Tonight...........HE SLEEPS AT HOME
This was his GRIN when he found out that he would be coming home today! He did ask though if he could bring the hospital bed home with him because it is very comfy!
Since today was Cams last day they threw him a party! But first as part of his therapy he had to mix, bake and frost the cake! He made the cake in the morning and had to wait, very impatiently, until 4pm for the Party to eat the cake. All of the therapists at Primary Children's are great, I wish we could do all the rest of the therapy with them but they assured me that the new therapists are Great too.
This is Miss Lisa Cams Physical Therapist. She. Was. Great.
Under all of those Balloons is a HAPPY Cameron on his way out of the hospital today!
Isn't this picture so cute? I took it on Saturday while Cameron was home on his Ride Pass.
Guess what Colby is???
STUDENT OF THE MONTH!!!!!!!!!!
Yesterday when Colby came to visit us at the Hospital he had some good news! He is the student of the month for March! YEAH COLBY! We are so proud of him! Colby really has been a trooper through all of the craziness. He is such a smart kid and a GREAT BIG Brother. He has been so nice and kind and willing to help Cam, and tonight as they were going to bed he said "Goodnight Cam, I'm really glad you are home." How sweet is that? I have the GREATEST KIDS EVER!

My Baby Girl
When my mom was here she was making this blessing dress for my brothers baby and kept thinking that it was just way too big. I'll say it was, it fit my big ole 15month old Hayden! Doesn't he look so cute? Is this what my girls would look like if I had any? I'll never know! And doesn't my mom do amazing work? I want a girl just so that I can have her make one of these for me! I really hope that baby Macy doesn't mind that Hayders wore her dress for a minute! Only 5 more weeks until we get to meet the new Heap Princess.

Ride Pass
Saturday and Sunday Cameron was able to get a ride pass to come home for the day. It was so so so nice to have him home yesterday for a few hours, but it was so so so hard for him to go back to the hospital. He is home again today and I am hoping that he has an easier time going back tonight. He really is doing great and I expect him to be able to come home for good very soon. I don't have much time right now to write as much as I would like, but when I am home again I will try and get the whole story written.
