Last night these kids were talking on the phone via G-chat which meant that Mark and I could hear the whole conversation.  

It started with Bayli asking Colby if he likes Pokemon cards.  Which opened Colby up like nothing else.  He LOVES Pokemon cards!  Bayli said she doesn't really like them but she has a binder full of them! Ha!  Colby asked her who her favorite was but couldn't understand her so he told her to spell it.  

She started to spell it by saying: M as in Maison, A as in apple.....

When she was done Colby asked her why she spelled it like that.  She explained so well that Mark and I were really impressed, she was right on!

So a little later in the convo Colby was telling Bayli about his new favorite web site, she told him to spell it.

Poptropica is the name of the web site, Colby spelled it like this:

P as in pot, O as in awkward, ......I as in eye....

Oh man it was so funny!  Neither one of them knew that awkward doesn't start with an O and I isn't eye.  She even spelled it back to him like that! 
Then it was Maison's turn to spell her word and her examples were so cute... I as in inchworm, L as in love etc...

It was a great conversation between cousins that I am glad I was able to listen to.  I only wish I had the video camera rolling during the spelling parts!
